At judo I learned the meaning of kaizen. It is a Japanese word of continuous improvement.
Word “kaizen”, where “kai” = change “zen” = good, means “change for better”.
Continuous improvement means daily improvements for being better. Like practicing every single day and getting better little by little.
For example: 6 months ago, I could only do 3 pull-ups. 4 months ago I did 4 pull-ups. And two months ago I did five pull-ups. Now I can do nine. This is kaizen. I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t practice every single day. And I improved little by little.
9 pull-ups wasn’t my goal, but I will still practice every single day.
All in all, kaizen means constant continuous improvement.
